The majority of us will one day be married and meet the man the Lord has intended for us, and our time of singleness will be gone before we know it. In the time that we have left of being single, let us not take advantage of this opportunity to run toward Christ with fewer worldly distractions.
For the first time, I think I finally understand stillness in the Lord. I’ve finally experienced what it is to find peace, comfort, and calmness in the midst of constant hurry and the demands of life. I realized and understood that I didn’t need physical stillness to find and rest assurance in the Lord. I’m on His time, not my own.
In order to take up our new names as Christians, we must lay down our old chains. We can’t fully comprehend and take hold of the intimacy of taking up our new names if we are still trapped in the bondage of our sins and burdens.
One of the most difficult realities I would have to face in my relationship with Christ was understanding that, when I accepted Christ as my Savior, I accepted Him as my Heavenly Father too.
I just felt numb. I continued to work in the ministries I am involved in at my church, but it was noticeable that something was missing, I wasn’t right. My friends could see it. I wasn’t mad at God about anything, but I didn’t feel Him close. There wasn’t a lack of peace, but there wasn’t an abundance of peace either. It was complicated.
I can’t tell you what Christ’s will is in your life, but I can tell you where to find peace, comfort, and refuge as we embark on the journey of pursuing Christ together. Scripture.
